This session will provide participants with a broad and working knowledge of: (1) the differences between professorial, non-professorial and research faculty positions, (2) the faculty search and hiring process, (3) behind the scenes - paperwork requirements and flow, (4) keeping faculty at Rice - contract renewals and other reappointments, (5) sabbaticals and leaves of absence. Participants will be able to more clearly define and understand tasks as they pertain to faculty matters. They will gain useful information about faculty policies and procedures and will learn about available reference tools.
